​Hi everyone, I’m Julia! I'm a grade 12 student at the University of Toronto Schools. I founded Learning Lights after a life-changing trip to South Africa where I witnessed the realities of poverty firsthand. That experience ignited a passion in me to make a difference, and I’m so excited to bring this project to life. Join us on this mission!

Learning Lights is an organization which aligns deeply with my personal values; every student should be given the right to pursue their education and the same opportunities, no matter their background.

Hi! I'm Queen, a student at TMU, pursuing a degree in Global Management Studies. I joined Learning Lights because I was truly moved by Julia’s story and mission. I believe every child deserves access to education, no matter where they’re from. I am passionate for educational equity, youth empowerment, and creating inclusive spaces where all voices are heard and valued.

Hi everyone! My name is Yuyi. I'm a U2 student pursuing a B.A in Education in Global Contexts at McGill University. My academic studies explore education within diverse international settings, inspiring me to join Learning Lights. I'm eager to apply my insights into global literacy practices to support educational empowerment initiatives in Africa.

Hi, I’m Francisca! I’m a recent graduate from the Economics and Finance program at TMU. I’ve always been inspired by the possibilities of what a person or group of people can achieve to influence the positive, which is why I’ve chosen to be a part of Learning Lights---to promote education and enable the opportunities it provides!
